3回にわたって日本の写真論のアンソロジーを紹介してきましたが、今回は、英語の写真論のアンソロジーを紹介したいと思います。
　

『Photography in print : writings from 1816 to the present』は、サブタイトルにもあるように、1816年から現在までの写真をめぐる文章を編んだ一冊です。1816年とは、ニセフォール・ニエプスが紙に画像をうつすことに成功した年です。出版年は1981年ですので、ここでの現在とは、そのころまでということになります。
　

つまり本書は、写真の誕生から出版当時までという、壮大なアンソロジーであり、およそ75編のテキストを収録した、570ページのボリュームになっています。
