人形町の路上で見つけたコンパクトカメラ。ハーフフレームのコニカレコーダーが、フルフレームのオリンパスミューより大きくて少し不思議。気軽に撮れるコンビ、いいね。私は音楽は作れませんが、こういう“レコーダー”は少しやってみたいな…。（Instagram @tysit）

 

Spotted this pair of compact cameras in Ningyocho- interestingly the half-frame Konica Recorder camera is almost twice the size of the full-frame Olympus Mju. Both were designed with that slide-open principal to keep things small.

Leica M6 & Leica SUMMICRON-M 35mm F2 ASPH.

 

東京都写真美術館へ行くと必ずフィルムカメラを見かけます。この前行った時、コインロッカーの前でこの美品ライカ M6とズミクロン35ミリと出会いました。 カメラはあまりにも美しくて、その日に初めて箱から出したといってもおかしくないです。こんな綺麗なカメラがまだあるんですね。素敵。

 

One always sees loads of film cameras around the necks of fellow visitors to the Tokyo Museum of Photographic Art. As I was about to leave on my recent trip, I saw this absolutely mint Leica M6 around the neck of a young man at the coin locker wall.  I would have had no trouble believing that it had been taken out of its box for the first time that morning. Amazing.

Pentax MZ-3 & FA50mm F1.4

 

東京都写真美術館を出てすぐに、またフィルムカメラを発見しました。このペンタックスMZ-3は、中国人の若い男子の肩にぶら下がっていました。最近いろいろな中古フィルムカメラが値上げしていますが、このような90年代後半のプラスチック一眼レフはまだまだお得です。


As I exited the photo museum, I met this young man with a Pentax MZ-3 around his neck.  These late-model plastic AF SLRS are some of the best ways to get into film photography- they're loaded with features and are still quite affordable.

神保町で出会った、デート中のカップル。彼はオリンパスPEN F。彼女はすこしビンテージなリコーGRデジタル Ⅲ。私はこういうチャーミングなことが大好きです、神保町デート万歳〜！

 

I ran into this young couple in Jimbocho on a recent afternoon.  He had an Olympus Pen F while she had an older Ricoh GRD. Nice little cameras for a casual date in Tokyo's bookshop district.

Minolta Uniomat & ROKKOR 45mm F2.8

 

明治神宮前駅の改札近くで発見した、ミノルタ UNIOMAT。

今年で「Tokyo Camera Style」は14歳になりますが、初UNIOMATです！この渋いデザインは、なかなかクールでかっこいいですね。

 

Spotted this Minolta around the neck of a young man at Meijijingu-mae station. I forgot to get a snap of the camera's top plate- and likewise forgot the model name. Google image search helped me find it- - it's a Minolta Uniomat from the early 1960s.  I looked at a LOT of thumbnails of chrome Minolta rangefinders to figure this out.
